Aspiring presidential candidate Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has made some key appointments for his campaign as the New Patriotic Party (NPP) prepares for its January 31, 2026 presidential primaries.
Leading the campaign team is governance and security expert Palgrave Boakye-Danquah.
Mr. Boakye-Danquah has been appointed as the National Coordinator.
A statement issued to announce this appointment indicated that Dr. Boakye-Danquah’s appointment reflects the confidence in his leadership, dedication, and passion for the reorganization of our dear New Patriotic Party and flagbearer hopeful Ohene Agyapong Kennedy.

The statement, which has referred to Kennedy Agyapong as OAK, said the campaign team is dedicated to advancing the Presidential ambitions of Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, a prominent Ghanaian politician, businessman, and six-term Member of Parliament for Assin Central under the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
It assured that “OAK will operate as a grassroots campaigning effort, emphasizing Agyapong’s “PHD” (Patriotism, Honesty, Discipline) to rally NPP delegates, NPP rank and file, youth and the ordinary Ghanaian around his vision for economic transformation, job creation, and anti-corruption governance”.
The statement added that “OAK has become primarily important when Agyapong garnered significant grassroots votes against the eventual winner, positioning him as a frontrunner for the party’s 2028 flagbearer slot. OAK embodies Agyapong’s shift from “fiery talk” to “focused action”, highlighting his entrepreneurial track record (e.g. investments in agriculture, media, industries creating millions of jobs and real estates) over theoretical promises.
Supporters will portray OAK as a campaigner for “nation-building”, targeting sectors like cocoa, cashew, and tomato production to address Ghana’s unemployment crisis and reduce reliance on institutions like the IMF”.
