Mali and Tunisia game yesterday at Stade Municipal de Limbe came to a Halt after Zambian Referee, Janny Sikazwe first blew the full time whistle in the 85th minute during Mali and Tunisia’s game at the 2021 AFCON in Cameroon.
The referee later realized he made a mistake and the game went on. He then blew his whistle at 89:48 minutes with no stoppage time.
Tunisia’s coaching staff were furious.
Statistics available shows that, On November 20, 2018, Zambian Referee, Janny Sikazwe was suspended by the CAF Disciplinary Board on suspicion of corruption.
The suspicion arose from the way he officiated the CAF Champions League Semi Final match which Espérance defeated Primeieo de Agosto 4–2 in the second leg.
A consensus was met to play back the remaining minutes but, furious and agitated Tunisia refused to mount the pitch to continue as Mali took the day with a lone goal victory.
He had to be escorted off the pitch by security after he first flew the full time whistle in the 85th minute during Mali and Tunisia’s game.
