The Chief Executive Officer of the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA), Julius Neequaye Kotey, has appeared before the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) for questioning following claims that he was offered a GH¢4 million bribe to halt the rollout of the new Digitalised Vehicle Registration Plate (DP) policy.

Mr. Kotey had earlier disclosed that some powerful figures attempted to bribe him to abandon the digital registration initiative, which is designed to combat vehicle-related fraud and enhance road safety nationwide.

The OSP confirmed his appearance, noting that the investigation seeks to verify the alleged offer and identify the individuals involved.

In a related development, the OSP has launched a separate probe into a Council of State member over alleged corruption linked to gold trading and licence influence.
