The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) demonstrated exemplary professionalism and quick response on August 13, 2025, when it attended to a road crash involving a Toyota Hiace (GE 7474-25) and a Kia Rhino (GB 3428-22) at Nkawkaw Abossey Okai.

The collision resulted in injuries to 13 passengers, one of whom was critically hurt, from the Toyota Hiace, which had 15 people on board. Fortunately, the driver and mate of the Kia Rhino escaped without injuries.

An 8-member GNFS crew was dispatched to the scene, where they efficiently prevented a potential fire outbreak, managed hazards, and facilitated the removal of the wrecked vehicles.

The injured passengers were promptly transported to the Holy Family Hospital for medical attention

The GNFS’s timely intervention undoubtedly averted a more catastrophic situation, underscoring the importance of their role in ensuring public safety.

Their actions highlight the need for continued support and appreciation for the service’s life-saving efforts.
