Five individuals have lost their lives, leaving others critically injured following a tragic accident at Asuboi, near Suhum on the Accra-Kumasi highway in the Eastern Region. The incident which reportedly occurred on Saturday, August 16, involved a Sprinter bus with registration number GW-5535-24.

Eyewitness told reporters the bus was moving at top speed when one of its tyres suddenly burst, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle.

The collision was severely ravaging that five passengers lost their lives instantly. Sources say rescue efforts were however delayed, with emergency teams arriving at the scene about 30 minutes later after the crash.

The injured victims were later transported to the Suhum Government Hospital for medical care.
