The Kwahu Afram Plains South District in the Eastern Region will be having a military base to address the growing threats of armed robbery attacks in the area, the District’s Chief Executive has said.

To make this possible, Abetifihene Akyemfour Asiedu Agyemang has made provision of 50 – acre land to set up the forward operating military base. We have done all our checks as an Assembly and the Ministry of Defense is also planning to deploy their men to provide security for our people”.

However, he added that the Parliament’s of approval of £230 million loan for the construction of bridge on the Afram River is eagerly on course.
“I recently met with the roads minister, Mr. Amoako Attah at the Presidency some two weeks ago and he told me they have facilitated all the necessary documents to completes the construction of the bridge and we are waiting on them to as soon as possible commence the project so I will plead with everyone to be calm and we will leave a legacy project for the people of Kwahu land”, he said.
