Friends of Ken Agyapong in Akyem Oda have embarked on a massive turnout showdown walk on the main street of Akyem Oda in the Birim Central Municipality to call on New Patriotic Party delegates to elect Kennedy Ohene Agyepong, one of four aspirants vying for the NPP flagbearer position.
The group argues that he is the only option the party has to break the eight, which has been their ultimate goal for the 2024 elections.
The convener for the Akyem Oda showdown walk, which is the first of its kind at the constituency level, Kofi Asiedu, popularly called the “righteous man,” emphasised that Hon. Kennedy Ohene Agyepong is a selfless and business-minded person who should be elected as the president to help develop the country; hence, the NPP party shouldn’t make any mistake by voting against him; otherwise, they cannot break the eight, which has been their main aim.
He added that the NPP party should understand that the majority of Ghanaians have lost hope in the current government administration; therefore, the party needs Kennedy Agyepong, who isn’t actively part of Nana Addo’s government, to convince them to retain the party’s power.
Other members and supporters of Ken also shared their reasons for calling on the NPP party to elect him to lead the party to break the 8.
