Drivers and passengers who use the Akyem Asuom main lorry station in the Kwaebibirem municipality of the Eastern region are calling on authorities to fix the horrible condition of the station that has hindered productivity for past years.

According to some passengers and drivers, the station which serves citizens in the municipality does not have a place of convenience.

They added that, although petitions have been sent to authorities to address the situation, it has fallen on deaf ears of authorities.

“Akyem Asoum is the second-largest town in the Kwaebibirem municipality and this lorry station serves a lot of people. When it rains especially, we can not even come here to pick cars because the station is filled with mud”, a passenger said.

To improve productivity, the passengers and drivers are pleading with authorities to come to their aid.

However, the parliamentary candidate hopeful for the Kade constituency; Asumaning Patrick Darkwah popularly called “Don Pope” has taken it upon himself to construct a befitting lorry station for Akyem Asoum.

He also disclosed that work has started on addressing the concerns of passengers and drivers.
