A fire broke out on October 8, 2025, destroying one room of a seven-bedroom apartment in Nsukwao, near the Safe Gold Hotel in Koforidua.

The Koforidua Municipal Fire Station received an emergency call at 10:19 a.m., quickly dispatching a team of eight firefighters to the scene.

The crew acted swiftly to contain the blaze, preventing it from spreading to other parts of the building. While the fire caused partial structural damage and destroyed personal belongings in the affected room, no injuries were reported.

Firefighters successfully brought the fire under control by 10:40 a.m..

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
