The Osino District Court has remanded four suspects in connection with the gruesome killing of five persons at Asiyaw, near Akwane-Dobro, in the Nsawam area of the Eastern Region.
The accused—Samuel Atsu Forson, also known as Alanyo; Freeheart Kweku Sedonu; Kwesi Prince; and Benjamin Adzalekor—were arrested by the Eastern South Regional Police Command following coordinated operations at their various hideouts.
At Friday’s court sitting, Samuel Atsu Forson, Freeheart Kweku Sedonu, and Kwesi Prince were remanded into prison custody, while Benjamin Adzalekor was ordered to be held in police custody. All four are expected to reappear in court on Thursday, May 8, 2025.
The arrests follow a deadly shooting incident on April 29, 2025, stemming from a violent confrontation between two groups allegedly engaged in illegal sand-winning activities in the Asiyaw area. The clash left five individuals dead and sent shockwaves across the community.
Police say investigations are ongoing and have assured the public that the suspects will be subjected to the full rigours of the law.
“The safety of the public is our utmost priority, and we are committed to ensuring that justice is served”.
