A galamsey pit collapse incident that occurred at Akyem Akrofufu has claimed one life, leaving another victim critically injured.
The deceased and the survivor have been identified as Stephen Adomako, popularly known as Kay, and Boadu a.k.a Bastuba, all from Asuom.
Reports gathered by myrepubliconline.com established the victims had gone deeper within the pit when the shoulders of the pit suddenly fell in, trapping them under brokerage. One managed to survive after Rescue efforts by colleague workers and residents.
The survivor, Boadu Bastuba is currently seeking medical support at the Kwabeng Government Hospital in the Atiwa West District.
