A KIA driver carrying fowls from Pepease–Kwahu narrowly escaped death after his vehicle caught fire on Wednesday evening at Atibie in the Eastern Region.

The driver, Kwabena Abrokwa was carrying the fowls from Pepease-Kwahu to Accra.

According to the driver whiles descending the Kwahu Mountains from Atibie, he realized the clutch of the vehicle was not functioning.

He said, he was forced to drive the vehicle to the other side of the road in order to prevent it from descending into the pit.

It is unclear what caused the fire, but no casualties or injuries were recorded as the man quickly got out before the fire became intense.
