Traditional authorities in Larteh Kubease Akuapem of the Eastern Region have threatened to mobilize their people to stage a massive demonstration against the government if they continue to pay lip service to the rehabilitation of bad roads in the Benkum Division of the Akuapem traditional council.

The chief and his elders also threatened to boycott the 2024 December polls if the roads were not fixed.

According to the chiefs, they have realized that all successive governments have failed to pay the needed attention to the deplorable nature of the major economic roads in the Larteh district.

The Twafohene of Larteh Kubease, who doubles as the Kyidomhene of Akuapem Adweso, Osaberimah Kwame Asah Tawiah i in a press conference today said people from the communities along the stretch of the Road were mostly farmers who are having challenges of transporting their farm produce to the market centers.

Addressing the press conference, Osaberimah Kwame Asah Tawiah appealed to the Government through the Ministry of Roads and Highways to fix their major roads to assist in the transportation of foodstuffs from the area to the surrounding communities and Greater Accra.
