A 53-year old man, Azu Isaac Duncan has allegedly committed suicide by drowning in Volta lake in the Asuogyaman District of the Eastern Region.
According to eyewitnesses, the man was first seen seated quietly at the Senchi Ferry site stretch of the lake.
However, suddenly jumped into the river.
After some time ,eyewitnesses raised alarm for him to be rescued by the local divers.
Unfortunately, it was too late.He was retrieved dead.
The body of the deceased has been deposited at the VRA Hospital morgue for autopsy as police conducts investigation into the incident.
Meanwhile efforts are underway to identify the family of the deceased.
He left behind Ghana Card, NHIS, SSNIT Card and his personal phone kept in polythene bag have retrieved from where he sat earlier before jumping into the lake.
