A 36-year-old man, Kwasi Nhyiraba popularly known as Jonkey is on the run after beating his two months old pregnant girlfriend to pulp.

The incident happened at Besease in the Kwahu South Municipality of the Eastern Region.

According to the pregnant woman, Sarpomaa Gladys, she was beaten mercilessly by his boyfriend over a phone call.

She narrated her ordeal in an interview with myrepubliconline.com, Kwasi Nhyiraba(the suspect) took her phone to the farm and received a call on the phone suspected to be from a male.

After receiving the call, he came home and complained bitterly about it.

As if that wasn’t enough for the jealous man, he informed his pregnant girlfriend to accompany him to buy food on the roadside which Sarpomaa obliged.

On their way back home, the man, Kwasi Nhyiraba began insulting the woman without any provocation and subsequently pounced on her severely.

He took to his heels after the heinous act.

The woman was later discovered by some neighbours who rushed her to the hospital for treatment.

According to the woman, this is not the first time such an incident has happened.

Meanwhile, the Chief of the Community, Nana Okyere Dartey is worried that, this has been his second time witnessing such an act but the victim always fails to report it to the police.

Nana said he has been advising the victim to report the incident to the police for the suspect to be arrested but she refuses, saying she will not get anyone to take care of her and her children if she gets the boyfriend arrested.
