Traders at the Akyem Kade Market in the Kwaebibirem Municipality of the Eastern Region are calling on their Member of Parliament, Hon. Alexander Kwadwo Agyare, to intervene in resolving a persistent waste management issue affecting their business environment.
According to the market vendors, a growing waste dump near the market has become a serious health hazard.
They claim that despite repeated calls to the waste management company Zoomlion Ghana to collect the accumulated garbage, their pleas have gone unanswered.
The traders lament that the uncollected waste is not only causing unbearable stench but also posing health risks to both sellers and buyers.
“We are suffering too much, and we need our MP to step in and address this issue,” one of the market women stated.
The traders are urging Hon. Agyare to take immediate action and engage the relevant authorities to ensure proper sanitation and a cleaner environment for their market.
