An unidentified mother has abandoned her newborn baby girl in Ahodwo in the Lower Krobo Municipality in the Eastern Region of Ghana.
According to reports, the baby was left at the doorstep of the resident pastor of New Covenant Apostolic Church in Ahodwo at the dawn of Sunday, July 16, 2023.
A note left behind by the yet-to-be identified mother indicated that the baby was delivered on Saturday, July 15.
She pleaded with the pastor to care for the child since she intended to end her life.
The note attached to the baby reads “By the time you will finish reading this letter, I will be dead and gone, please take care of this baby as your own child. Please, I regret doing this but that is the only way this baby can have a chance to live. Please she was born just yesterday night. Please take care of her. I’m sorry please forgive me. God bless you,” she wrote.
