Mpraeso Hene Nana Ampadu Daaduam on Friday, March 29, installed a new Nkosuohene for the good people of Mpraeso.
The new development chief, Nana Kofi Bediako Amoafo- Hene is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for East Cantonment Pharmacy, one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in Ghana.
Nana Amoafo – Hene was born on 24th December, 1962 in Accra to Mr. E.S Bediako from the Asona family of Mpraeso and madam Akua Kyema from the Amoakari family of Obo.
He started his elementary school at the Methodist primary school in Mpraeso and was later moved to Presbyterian school by the father to continue his elementary education..
He sat for the Common Entrance Examination in 1976 and was admitted to the Mpraeso Secondary School (Mpass) where he did his seven years ‘O’ level and ‘A’ respectively.
He then moved to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology from 1985 to 1989 where he studied BSc. Civil Engineering.
After his university education, he did his National Service at the Urban Roads and then joined his brother, Mr. Ernest Bediako Sampong, founder of Ernest Chemist to do business.
Nana Kofi Bediako was born into the Pharmaceutical business.
His father was a pioneer in spearheading the development of the Pharmaceutical industry in Ghana and a major importer of pharmaceutical products.
Nana had always joined his father in the sale of pharmaceuticals during his school days which earned him some substantial income.
It was this feat that he had the opportunity to learn and gain a lot of experience in the industry.
Nana Amoafo-Hene is married to Mrs. Gladys Bediako Amoafo-Hene, and blessed with two sons.
Nana is a firm believer of philanthropy and is involved in numerous activities related to the development of his beloved Mpraeso and Kwahuman.
Nana in his vision, has set out number of initiatives he would be undertaken to contribute his quota to the people he will be serving.
Amongst them, Nana said include setting up a health center where people can easily access medical check up.
He added that Health is his number one priority in which he will make sure that everyone will have access to check their status.
Nana Barfour Agyare Asuamah I, Kwahu Mawerehene who represented Kwahuman Hene Daasebre Akuamoah Agyapong advised the newly installed chief to stand firm in all his endeavors.
He said, Daasebre Akuamoah Agyapong fully supports his installation and that he is fully committed to ensuring his reign as Nkosuohene becomes one that will impress many.
Nana Anom Boansi who spoke on behalf of Mpraeso Hene indicated that, consultations were extensively made by the elders and by their decision, Nana Kofi Bediako was the right person for the role considering his philanthropic gestures.
He said, Nana Ampadu Daaduam will be glad to see improvement in the health systems within the Mpraeso Municipality and has therefore communicated his plea to the newly installed development chief.
