The newly installed Kwahuhene, Daasebre Akuamoah Boateng III, has been officially introduced to the people of Kwahu and the general public in a grand outdoor ceremony.
At a colourful event on Saturday, March 8, customs and traditions were beautifully performed to outdoor the new Kwahuhene.
Per Kwahu customs and traditions as enshrined by Akyemfour Asiedu Agyemang III, Abetifihene, newly installed Chiefs are kept indoors for a 40-day ritual, the emancipation of customs and traditions as well as receiving advice from well-wishers and Kingsmen.
“Per our traditions, a new chief is obligated to be kept indoors for 40 days to receive good counsel, and learn tradition and customs in order to ensure the smooth running of his new leadership role. Today, we’re here to outdoor our new Kwahuhene, and it’s our fervent prayer that he succeeds”, Kwahu Adonten Hene stated.
Osaberima Ansa Sasraku I, Mamfe Hene and representative for former President Kuffour in his address lauded the new Kwahuhene’s distinctive moral, corporate and social life. President Kuffour commended the humble and enviable developments he’s undertaken throughout his life, urging him to never renege as he takes a new dimension in his life.
Kwahu Hemaa Nana Adwoa Gyamfua III called on the Divisional Chiefs to rally support for the new Omanhene to rule Kwahu in modesty, development and goodwill. She also urged the business acumen in Kwahu to support and provide jobs for the young ones in Kwahu to expand the progress of Kwahuman.
“I will urge all of us, especially the Divisional Chiefs to support our new Omanhene. All of us gathered here are in support of the installment of the new Kwahuhene, and I’m urging you, the people of Kwahu to support the cause of our New Omanhene. I’m also asking you to help provide job opportunities for our young people”,
Among Daasebre’s vision for development in Kwahu is Agriculture and youth development. He promised to use Agriculture to support the socioeconomic growth of Ghana.
He indicated in his speech that, an initial 200 – acre land has been cleared to begin mass and commercial farming in Kwahu. The land, according to Daasebre Akuamoah Boateng III will be distributed to Kwahu youth to undertake farming.
Daasebre has also met with all the five MPs serving in the Kwahu bloc to undertake this initiative.
Kwahuhene, as patron has called on all his Divisional Chiefs to support him to bring massive change in Okwahu United. He said, he’s ready to assist and move Okwahu United to Premier.
Known in private life as Barfour Osei Akoto, Daasebre Akuamoah Boateng III is an illustrious royal from the Etena Royal family of Nkwatia. He was duly nominated by Kwahu Hemaa Nana Adwoa Gyamfua III and was presented to King Makers to receive, at their hands the benefits of installation.
Subsequently, he was presented to Kwahu Adonten hene Nana Akyemfour Asiedu Agyemang III for further presentation to the chiefs of Kwahuman for their swearing of allegiance to Daasebre.
He’s a chattered civil engineer, real estate developer, constructor and shipping executive. From 1996 to 2000, he worked in Ghana on construction projects including Kotoka International Airport expansion and Aboadze Thermal plant.
After master’s degree in 2002 in the UK, he worked as a bridge engineer and rose to become a consultant engineer and project manager at Haipro Group in the United Kingdom. Daasebre returned to Ghana in 2007 and started GHS housing and GHS Engineering limited.
In 2019, he expanded his interest in shipping and established Terna Marine Limited and African Bulk Shipping Limited. Daasebre attended st. Peter’s Boys Secondary School in Nkwatia from 1983 to 1988 and obtained his O’ and A’level certificates with distinction. He subsequently entered Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and graduated in 1996 with first class in Civil Engineering. He later London South Bank University where he obtained a master of science in civil engineering.
In the year 2003, he successfully qualified as a chattered civil engineer in the UK and Ghana. Daasebre loves learning and he’s currently pursuing his chattered ship broker course in London. He’s an outgoing person and has a passion for outdoor work. It is this passion that he desires to bring into his role as the Omanhene and President of Kwahu Traditional Council.
Daasebre Akuamoah Boateng III was installed as Kwahuhene on Saturday, January 25, 2025.
