The Eastern Regional Roads and Highways Director, Mr Charles Adubofour has stated that, the Nkawkaw – Abirem bound highway is at a completion stage of 55%.
Noting down the progress of the project at a road tour in Abirem, he advised that the contractor, spearheads his commitment to ensure the total construction of every aspect of the project assigned to him.
The tour, which began from the ongoing bridge construction on the Republic Fm Road at Nkawkaw Hotel junction to Abirem, the Eastern Regional Roads and highways boss, together with the regional maintenance manager visited many communities along Nkawkaw – Abirem highway to assess the improvement of the project.
Representatives from the Kwahu West Municipality, MCE- Hon. Yaw Owusu Addo, Kwahu West Roads and Highways Director, Mr Tutu and the Deputy Urban Roads engineer were also present to grace the tour.
MP for Abirem, Hon. John Osei Frimpong and his engineer, Birim North DCE Hon Nana Damptey and his engineer were also present.
During the tour, the team from Republic Fm observed that, some parts of the Amuana Praso to Yebe Dane Agya and Nyafoman road has been first coated with loose chippings.
The Akoase town roads of about 3 kilometers have also been first coated to ease hardships among commuters on the dusty roads.
The chief of Nyafoman who had earlier raised issues of neglect appealed to the Regional Director to include the Nyafoman town roads of about 1.4 kilometers to the contractor.
Mr Charles maintained that, the completion of the road has been scheduled for 15th April, 2022
“We’re looking at roughly, 15th April 2022, we must be able to finish off this projects to ease challenges confronting the commuters” he told the team gathered.
