Joseph Frempong, the Member of Parliament for Nkawkaw constituency has presented items to best-performing teachers in his district, at the maiden teachers awards 2022, held at Nkawkaw on March 6th, 2023.
The MP, through his initiatives to see the various developments and agencies under his constituency do well, has on several times conducted a series of benevolent projects.
Addressing the gathering during the 66th Independence day at the Pentecost School, the MP called on teachers across the country to exercise constraint and provide the best training they have acquired to groom up their students to foster the goal of national development.
“We are hoping that the teachers will give up their best to improve teaching and learning for the students to pass well and also to ensure discipline among students in the communities. I am not rewarding teachers because I am a teacher but for their hard work and also to motivate them”, he said.
The MP, Mr. Frimpong explained that some teachers in remote communities where there are no lights and internet are sacrificing a lot to improve learning so they need to be inspired.
“Due to scarcity of resources, we couldn’t reward everyone so we had to select a few to reward and I know this will encourage the rest of the teachers to also do their best. This is not the only best way to motivate teachers but also using intrinsic and extrinsic motivation”, he added.
The overall best teacher, Mr. Dwomor, entreated his colleagues to emulate his hard work and do their utmost best for them to be also recognized.
