A 17-year-old-boy Samuel Adjei Boateng, washing bay attendant has lost his life at Abirem Government Hospital after allegedly been beaten by two police officers at New Abirem District Police Command in the Birim North District of the Eastern Region.

The incident is reported to have occurred at Mamaso, a known suburb within the Abirem District.

The family while speaking to the media said, Samuel Adjei Boateng popularly known as Kwasi, fell sick and on admission at the hospital, they were told that two policemen who work at New Abirem police command and normally wash their vehicle at their bay beat him after water sprinkled on one of the police officers.

He also told them his master has ordered them not to wash the police cars for free.

The father, mother and sister who spoke to the media are therefore demanding justice else they will consult their gods.

On the part of the New Abirem Police command, they said the mother of the deceased has complained the incident but when they contacted the owner of the washing bay, he said something of that nature did not happen at his workplace.

According to the police, they can’t make any arrest but they have forwarded the complaint to the IGP.

When the media further spoke to eyewitnesses who happen to be the co-workers of the deceased, they confirmed that it was true that two policemen who they can identify by faces though do not know their names beat him to death.
