A tragic accident on the Aseseeso stretch between Adukrom and Somanya in the Eastern Region has left multiple pupils from Ben Kunadu SDA Basic School feared dead after their school bus crashed on Friday.
The bus, carrying 62 children on an excursion to Akosombo, reportedly lost control while descending a hill, somersaulted, and landed on its side.
Eastern Regional Minister, Rita Akosua Awatey, who was passing by at the time of the accident, joined rescue efforts and helped transport some injured students to the Yilo Krobo Municipal Hospital.
Emergency response teams, including personnel from the Police, Fire Service, and Ambulance Service, are currently at the scene, working to rescue trapped victims and assess the extent of casualties.
Authorities have yet to confirm the exact number of fatalities and injuries as investigations continue.
