Information reaching myrepubliconline.com indicates that the Principal of St. Paul Technical School (SPATS) in Akyem Kukurantumi in the Eastern region has been cited in the alleged food stuff theft by the school’s matron.
Sources revealed that the principal of the school, Benjamin Adjabeng has been conniving with the matron of the school to steal food meant for students.
Some kitchen staff revealed to Bryt Fm that the Principal allows the matron to take storeroom and kitchen keys to her house while other departments are forced to submit their keys to the Principal’s office before leaving the school.
The staff indicated that they were not surprised the matron was caught red-handed by the students.
“The Principal is aware of what the woman has been doing. This is not the first time. The last time, we made her return some food items to the kitchen”
The matron of St. Pauls Technical School in Akyem Kukurantumi in Abuakwa North Municipality in the Eastern Region, Madam Comfort is currently on Police wanted list for allegedly stealing food items from the school’s kitchen.
Students of the school on Sunday rioted and impounded a cab which was used by the matron to transport food stuff believed to have been stolen from the school’s pantry.
The cab with registration number AS 3074 -15 had its tyres deflated and glasses smashed by the angry students after Madam Comfort and the driver of the car took their heels.
Reports say, a formal complaint was lodged by the Headmaster, Benjamin Adjabeng at the Akyem Kukurantumi Police station.
The alleged stolen food items included nine buckets of groundnuts paste, one bag of millet, four boxes of tin tomatoes, three bags of rice, three bags of flour, two bags of sugar and one large gallon of cooking oil.
One suspect alleged to have loaded the food items into the taxi on campus is currently in police custody to help in the investigation into the incident.
