The New Patriotic Party (NPP) on Saturday held a mammoth rally in Nkawkaw in the Eastern Region as part of efforts to reorganize and energize its support base after the 2024 elections.
The ‘Thank You’ rally, which took place at the Nkawkaw on Saturday, attracted thousands of party supporters, constituency executives, regional executives, and sympathizers from Kwahu, Akyem and Akuapem blocs.
Party leaders who addressed the crowd said the rally was to show that the NPP remains strong and united in the Eastern Region despite the defeat in the 2024 polls.
Eastern Regional Chairman of the party, Mr. Jeff Konadu Addo, thanked supporters for their massive turnout and said the energy displayed shows that the NPP will rise again.
“This crowd shows NPP is still the people’s party. We are rebuilding from the grassroots and we will come back stronger in 2028,” he stated.
Former Ghana Publishing MD, Mr. David Asante Boateng, who was also present, said the Eastern Region will lead Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s victory in 2028 and called on supporters to start house-to-house campaigns.
Several constituency chairmen, youth organizers, and women’s organizers took turns to address the crowd, calling for unity and hard work.
The rally was characterized by music, party chants, and display of placards with inscriptions such as “NPP Will Rise Again” and “Bawumia 2028”.
Security was heavy as police officers were deployed to maintain law and order during the event.
The program ended peacefully with party leaders promising to replicate such rallies across the Eastern Region.
