The payment comes seven months after the election.

The statement, signed by EC Chairperson Mrs. Jean Mensa, came on Thursday, June 12, 2025—exactly seven months after the polls.

In an official statement, Mrs. Mensa disclosed that the Ministry of Finance had disbursed the long-awaited funds for the allowances. “The Commission is working round the clock to ensure that payments are made promptly,” the statement read. According to the EC, temporary staff can expect their allowances no later than Friday, June 20, 2025.

The delay in payments had sparked public outcry in recent weeks.

The EC also expressed gratitude to the temporary staff for their patience and cooperation during the extended delay.
