The Electoral Commission (EC) is set to conduct balloting for the 13 approved presidential candidates in the upcoming December elections today, Friday, September 20, 2024.
According to a statement from the commission, the balloting will take place at the EC’s corporate head office at 4 PM.
The EC congratulated all presidential aspirants for successfully completing the nomination process. “On behalf of the Electoral Commission, I am pleased to inform you that your candidate has successfully gone through the nomination process and qualifies to contest as a presidential candidate for the 2024 Presidential Election. Congratulations!” the statement read.
A total of 24 candidates filed nominations for the 2024 General Election. However, the EC cleared 13 out of the 24 to participate in the balloting.
The candidates affiliated with political parties include:
– Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia (NPP)
– John Dramani Mahama (NDC)
– Kofi Akpaloo (LPG)
– Rev. Christian Kwabena Andrews (GUM)
– Hassan Abdulai Ayariga (APC)
– Mohammed Frimpong (NDP)
– Akua Donkor (GFP)
– Nana Akosua Frimpomaa Sarpong-Kumankumah (CPP)
– Daniel Augustus Lartey (GCPP)
The independent candidates include:
– Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen
– Nana Kwame Bediako
– George Twum Barimah-Adu
– Kofi Koranteng
