The Electoral Commission (EC) has announced plans to hold regular media briefings on Election Day, December 7, 2024, to provide timely updates on the electoral process.
Accredited media personnel are invited to cover the sessions, which will also serve as a platform to address reports and stories from across the country.
The first briefing will take place at 9:00 am, with subsequent updates scheduled for 12:00 noon, 3:00 pm, and 6:00 pm. From 9:00 pm, additional briefings will be held as results come in from the regions. Each session is expected to last no more than 30 minutes.
The EC emphasized the importance of verifying election-related reports with the Commission to prevent the spread of unverified information. Citizens are encouraged to contact the EC’s toll-free number, 0800 324 324, for clarifications.
Deputy Chairman for Operations, Samuel Tettey, reaffirmed the EC’s commitment to conducting fair, transparent, credible, and peaceful elections. “We look forward to working with the media to bring the electoral process closer to the citizens,” he added.
