EC to publish ballot statistics for 2024 General Election

The Electoral Commission of Ghana has announced the publication of ballot statistics to facilitate the printing of ballots for the upcoming Presidential and Parliamentary Elections ahead of the 2024 General Election.

The Electoral Commission of Ghana has announced the publication of ballot statistics to facilitate the printing of ballots for the upcoming Presidential and Parliamentary Elections ahead of the 2024 General Election.

The EC said in a statement that, in determining the ballot statistics, the Commission considered the total number of voters listed on the 2024 Provisional Voters Register (PVR) and applied a two percent increase.

EC noted that the approach is designed to account for the anticipated voter turnout on Election Day, acknowledging that not every registered voter will participate in the election.

The Commission expressed confidence in its methodology, stating that using the total number of voters on the PVR plus an additional two percent is sufficient to ensure an adequate supply of ballots while minimizing the risk of shortfalls or waste.

It said the percentage increase strategy has been employed by the Commission for ballot printing since 1992, demonstrating its reliability over the years.
