The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced planned and emergency maintenance from March 1 to March 5, 2026, affecting multiple communities.
In a statement issued on Friday, February 27, and signed by its Communications Department, the power distributor said the exercise is intended to enhance service delivery and strengthen network reliability across the Greater Accra, Tema, Accra East and Accra West operational areas.
“ECG will undertake planned maintenance works to improve service delivery. This will result in a temporary outage,” the company stated in notices circulated to the public, adding that it regrets the inconvenience.
The maintenance begins Sunday, March 1, in the Greater Accra Region, where Trassaco Valley Enclave and nearby areas will be without electricity from 9:00am to 3:00pm. In the Tema Region, industrial and commercial customers along Western Road, including Early Power, Apollo Steel, Crown Can, De-Simone, Tropical Cable, Multi Pac, Jon Moore, Cal Bank and La Bianca, will experience supply interruption within the same timeframe.
An emergency exercise will also be undertaken in the Accra West Region on Sunday, affecting La Darkuman, Kokompe and adjoining communities as engineers address urgent faults on the network.
On Monday, March 2, residents of Alogboshie, Achimota Neoplan, Benjilo, Akweteman and surrounding areas in Accra West will have no power from 9:00am to 5:00pm.
Maintenance activities intensify on Tuesday, March 3. In Accra East, outages will hit Santana Market, Zion Police Station, Teshie Camp 2, ICGC, parts of Labone, Dome Pillar 2, Dome K Boat, No Visa, Auntie Mary and nearby locations between 9:00am and 5:00pm.
That same day, Spintex Kotobabi, Inkoom Hospital, Monte Carlo, Shell Filling Station, Gyan Towers, CAC in Community 5, Community 3 and other parts of Tema will be affected. Red Top, Old Barrier, New Aplaku and Kings University in Accra West are also listed for interruption.
On Wednesday, March 4, Tunga, New Century, Dansoman Police Station, Dansoman Market, Weija Junction and Tetegu will experience outages from 9:00am to 5:00pm.
The final phase on Thursday, March 5, will cover parts of Ashongman Estate, Pure Water, Car Price, Railways, C-Root Company, Asiedu Nketia, Oyarifa, Gravel Pit and Ashiyie in Accra East. In the Tema Region, Jericho, Roman Down, Underbridge Market, State School for the Deaf, Safisana, BBF, Adjei Kodjo, Kanawu, Tsopoli, Dawa, Sege, Korluedor, Adokope, Kasseh, Inglisi, Ada Foah, Big Ada, Totope, Azizanya, Treasure Island and Aqua Safari will be without power from 9:00am to 3:00pm. Doblo, Hebron, Medie, Sarpeiman, Satellite, Tabora No.2 to No.6, Bankyease, Racecourse, Alhaji and Rockstar Area at Tantra Hills in Accra West will also be affected until 5:00pm.
