The Minister’s remarks come amid ongoing efforts by the government and ECG to enhance financial performance and operational efficiency within the power sector, a critical component of Ghana’s energy transition agenda.

Speaking on the floor of Parliament, Minister Jinapor highlighted that ECG generated 1.6 billion Ghana Cedis in revenue, marking a substantial increase compared to previous periods.

Although the company’s revenue fell short of the projected target of 2.5 billion Ghana Cedis for the half-year, Jinapor emphasized that the growth achieved is a positive development.

“For instance, this month, at the end of the period, ECG was able to raise about 1.6 billion Ghana Cedis, which is a remarkable improvement,” he stated.

He further explained that when comparing the revenue figures year-on-year, the increase is even more pronounced.

“If you do a year-on-year comparison, what it means is that this month of 2025, as compared to the same month in 2024, there’s a remarkable improvement in terms of revenue collection,” Jinapor added.
