The National Democratic Congress has said, the Akufo-Addo’s Economic Management team has lost it completely, considering the kind of hardship and economic crisis the entire country is going through.

The NDC believes that certain economic measures that was introduced by the government has affected Ghanaians.

The Deputy Eastern Regional Youth organizer of the NDC, Alhaji Sidi Bello has stated that the introduction of the reversal of the benchmark value skyrocketed the price of some products.

“For the past one month, Ghanaians have seen a lot of difficulties. Deadly economic measures that was introduced by the government has brought a lot of hardship on the people.

Firstly, there was a debate about the reversal of the benchmark value which we even pointed out that it bring increment in certain economic products but the Govt didn’t listen and brought it and there was over 30% increment in some products”, he told Kwame Koranteng on Republic FM on Friday, May 13.

According to the NDC, other economic implementations including the E-levy, the inability to stabilize the prices of petroleum has also contributed to the high cost of living in the country.

The NDC said, any serious country would have had a backup plan after the Covid-19 but the Akufo-Addo led administration has no plan to salvage the ailing economy.
