The Ministry of Education has refuted claims in the media that suggested that allowances for Teachers and Nurses in various government training schools have been cancelled.
A statement signed by the spokesperson of the ministry, Kwasi Kwarteng, indicated that such reporting is false and unfounded.
It added, however, that the government has no plans to cancel the allowances, and it stated that the government will continue to give assistance to the students.
“The statement attributed to the Minister for Education, Hon. Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum regarding the cancellation of allowances for teachers and nursing students is categorically false and unfounded. The Ministry of Education denies any such claims or intentions to terminate these allowances.
“We understand the importance of supporting and prioritizing the training of teachers, and the government remains committed to providing necessary financial assistance in these areas.”
The Ministry, however, has asked the public to rely on accurate and verifiable information from official sources, such as the Ministry of Education, government press releases, and reliable news sites, for updates on issues relating to education and healthcare.
