The Ministry of Education has officially launched the new guidelines for the school selection process for candidates sitting for the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
The Deputy Minister for Education, Dr. Clement Apaak, emphasized that no headteacher or teacher is permitted to complete the school selection forms on behalf of students without the explicit approval of parents or guardians. This measure is aimed at ensuring transparency and promoting greater involvement of families in the educational decisions of their wards.
The new guidelines are expected to impact positively on students and enable them take ownership of their educational choices as well as make informed decisions about their future
For her part, the Free SHS Coordinator, Ms. Benita Sena Okity Duah, urged parents and guardians to take an active interest in the school selection process. She noted that this is a critical moment in the academic journey of BECE candidates and requires the full support and engagement of all stakeholders.
Ministry remains committed to equitable access to quality education and urges all stakeholders to adhere to the new guidelines to ensure a smooth and successful placement process.
