The Majority Leader and Member of Parliament (MP) for the Effutu constituency, Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin, has demonstrated his commitment to improving healthcare facilities within his constituency.
In a recent gesture of goodwill, the MP made a significant donation to the Winneba Model Health Centre, located near UEW’s South Campus.
The donation, which comes at a crucial time, includes a wide range of essential medical supplies and equipment.
Among the items donated are various drugs to enhance the centre’s pharmaceutical services, as well as non-drug items such as a weighing scale, HB strips, a generator to ensure uninterrupted power supply, a deep freezer, three refrigerators, and six foldable tables.
Additionally, the donation includes 30 plastic chairs, dustbins, mops, a laminator, and toner cartridges, all aimed at improving both operational efficiency and comfort at the facility.
In a bid to further enhance the infrastructure of the health centre, the MP has funded the repair of the facility’s ceiling, which had been in need of attention.
Recognising the importance of proper sanitation and hygiene in healthcare delivery, Afenyo-Markin is also overseeing the ongoing construction of washrooms and other essential facilities at the centre.
These contributions are part of the MP’s broader initiative to uplift healthcare services in the Effutu constituency, ensuring that residents have access to quality healthcare in a well-equipped environment.
The Winneba Model Health Centre serves a growing population, and the improvements facilitated by these donations are expected to significantly enhance the delivery of health services.
