In a groundbreaking moment, Efua Ghartey has shattered the glass ceiling to become the first female president of the Ghana Bar Association (GBA).

She had previously run for the position twice, losing by narrow margins.
However, her determination and perseverance paid off, and she polled 1,278 votes to beat her closest contender at the GBA presidential elections held in Kumasi on Wednesday, September 11, 2024.
