A delegation from the Obomeng Traditional Council has presented assorted items to the Muslim community in Nkawkaw ahead of the Eid-ul-adha celebration.

The delegation, led by the Chief of Nkawkaw, Nana Osono Adade I, on behalf of the Obomeng Hene Odɛefo Opinamang III, presented some assorted items to Nkawkaw Muslim community as a sign of fostering peace and tranquility among the various religious authorities in the area.

Presenting the items in the presence of Nkawkaw Hene on Saturday, July 9, the Nifa Hene of Obomeng, Nana Owusu Ansong acknowledged the relentless efforts by the Zongo community for their continuous contributions to peace and development in the area.

He said, today being an important day for the Muslim community in the country, it was very necessary Nana Obomeng Hene and the Nkawkaw Hene to meet with the Zongo Chief and his people to celebrate the Eid-ul-adha together.

Nana Obomeng Hene Odɛefo Effah Opinamang III has always been a campaigner of peace and a staunch friend to the Muslim community in the area.

Acknowledging the effort by Obomeng traditional council, Nana Zongo Hene, Alhaji Abdul Nasir Osman who happens to be the son of the former Zongo chief who died commended the traditional leaders for their continuous support to the Muslim community.

The Zongo Chief assured and pledged his readiness to always pay homage to the traditional authority and to also foster cooperation for the betterment of the people.

The items included canned Malts, rice, oil and a Ram was presented to the Muslim community.
