The Kwahu West Municipal Assembly in the Eastern Region has donated some items to support this year’s Eid-al-adha celebration in the municipality.
Presenting the items to the Muslim community on Friday, July 8, the Municipal Chief Executive for the Kwahu West, Lawyer Yaw Owusu Addo acknowledged the efforts by the Muslim community for their commitment to the development of the country and fostering peace across the country.
The donation as presented, was an effort made by the Assembly in conjunction with the MP for Nkawkaw constituency, Joseph Frempong.
“We are here to present these items to our brothers as they celebrate the Eid-ul-adha. This is a donation by the Assembly and the MP for our constituency to support our Muslim bothers celebration. We are supporting today for their immense contribution to peace, development and their prayers for our beloved country and that is why the MP and the Assembly have collaborated to assist with these items”, he conceded.
Among the items presented included 20 bags of rice, 10 cartons of tin tomatoes and 10 cartons of Frytol.
Receiving the items on behalf of the Municipal Chief Imam, secretary to the Imam, Sheikh Ismailah Ahmed commended the MP and the Assembly for their immeasurable thoughts to have made such a remarkable move to support the Eid-al-adha.
“On behalf of the Municipal Chief Imam and the Zongo Chief, I will commend the Assembly and the MP for this generous gesture.
In our history, today signifies that those of us who couldn’t make it to Mecca, we must fast and if you heard the MCE talk about fasting, today means we must fast and we thank the MCE and the MP for providing us these items to break our fast. We pray that Allah will bless Kwahu and Ghana at large”.
