Vice President and flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, has called on constituents of Ejisu to vote for the parliamentary candidate of the NPP in the upcoming by-election slated for Tuesday, April 30.

Dr. Bawumia emphasized that voting for the NPP candidate will ensure the continuity of development projects in the constituency.

Speaking at a campaign rally at Ejisu, he said voting for an independent candidate would harm the party’s majority seats in parliament.

“Let us vote for Lawyer Kwabena Boateng because he is the one who can continue the good works of the late John Kumah. All of us know that it is governments that ensure development in the country. If you look at the developmental works of the NPP in Ejisu constituency from former President Kufuor’s time, the NPP has done massively well than the NDC. So, if you vote for an independent candidate, how will he bring development here.” he asked.

“If you look at parliament, the NPP has 138 seats as against 137 for the NDC so if you vote for the independent candidate and he joins the NDC, then he has given the power to the NDC. So voting for the independent candidate means you have voted for the NDC and John Mahama,” he stressed.

He added that voting for the NDC will mean that the country will retrogress because of their lack of vision.

“If we vote for NDC and John Mahama, they will take the country back. A lot of development under the NPP will stall. Free SHS policy which was introduced by President Akufo-Addo, Mahama has said he does not believe in it so if he becomes president, he will cancel it.”
