The former New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Ejisu constituency in the Ashanti region, Kwabena Owusu Aduomi, has officially filed nomination to contest the upcoming by-election as an Independent Candidate.
Announcing to go independent in a statement after being an MP for three terms, Mr. Owusu Aduomi said, “The genesis of this decision traces back to the tumultuous Ejisu polling station executive elections, marred by irregularities that would have been deemed unacceptable in any democratic society.

He also noted that despite deciding to go independent come April 30, he will consider joining the party in the future if things are done the right way
Meanwhile, the Ashanti Regional Chairman for NPP, Bernard Antwi-Boasiako has criticized the former MP for being disloyal despite the benefits he has had adding the NPP candidate, Kwabena Boateng will emerge victorious at the end of the polls.
“The late John Kumah beat him, Kwabena Boateng will beat him, we’re a strong party, development is what the Ejisu people want”, he stressed.
