EKK Charity Foundation has paid an amount of GH₵10,000 to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital to settle medical bills for three treated patients.

CEO of EKK Charity Foundation, Dr. Evans Kofi Kwafo, said the gesture was to put smiles on the faces of detained patients at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital who are unable to pay for their medical bills.

He said the NGO, as part of its main activities, has been catering for the medical bills of patients who are unable to pay their bills after treatment.

Dr. Evans Kofi Kwafo called on fathers to do well and accept the responsibility of caring for their children regardless of their circumstances to avoid putting pressure on mothers.

“It’s very traumatic and unfortunate to abandon your wife in the hospital after giving birth, which will later make her a burden to the facility.” Dr Kwafo noted

He added “we all have loved ones in a society that we can run to seek for help when the needs arise to support our wives, “we must not run away and leave the women to suffer whenever they visit the hospital because that incident can worsen their situations”, he added.

Meanwhile, he has promised that despite its limited resources, the foundation will still embark on more of these interventions.
