The Minister for Energy and Green Transition, John Abdulai Jinapor, on Tuesday joined the Board, Management and stakeholders of the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) at the company’s Annual General Meeting, where audited financial statements spanning 2017 to 2025 were presented.

The presentation of the nine years of audited accounts marks a major milestone in restoring TOR’s statutory compliance, enhancing transparency and strengthening confidence in one of Ghana’s most strategic state-owned enterprises.

Mr. Jinapor commended the Board, Managing Director Edmond Kombat, management and staff of TOR for their commitment and hard work in achieving the milestone.

He expressed satisfaction with the refinery’s improved financial performance and welcomed the successful resumption of refining operations following maintenance works on the Crude Distillation Unit.

The Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting TOR’s modernization, recapitalization and long-term growth, stressing that a strong national refinery is vital to enhancing Ghana’s energy security, creating employment, adding value to the country’s crude oil resources and reducing reliance on imported refined petroleum products.
