Afrobeat singer, Camidoh has sent a word of reasoning to his colleague musicians to throw away the blame and complaint banter away and focus on what the Ghanaian music has and can offer to compete with other impressing Music industry on the African continent.
His comments comes after Ghanaian Dancehall Artiste, Charles Nii Armah Mensah known in the music circles as Shatta Wale bantered on with Nigerian Artistes for not showing the same love Ghanaian acts reciprocate in their direction.
But speaking in an interview with Nana Effah on Republic FM’s Artiste Profile on Friday, the “For my Lover” hit maker said, it’s a high time people stop complaining on the fact that, he, as one of the Ghanaian artistes sings more of Nigerian accents and that he will not be supported.
Whiles Establishing his facts on how Ghanaian music can be pushed, he advocated that if the industry players continue to dwell on the Complains and the things they feel are not going the way they want to go, the industry will never be able to achieve anything.
“ Um if you ask me, I think we have had enough of the Complains, even the people that have achieved great stuff like Sarkodie and Shatta Wale himself, from the day he came out, he tried and tried the things he felt are setbacks in the industry and he became who he has become today so I feel its not everything we should blame someone.
Though I think the argument people are making are right because we play too much of Nigerian music but if we want to dwell on the complains and the things we feel are not going the way we want it, we will never achieve anything, so what I actually want to say is that, as Ghanaians we need to focus on what we have and how to capitalize on It. And so I agree with Shatta Wale and whomever trying to fight for us to get our music played more, however I also advice we build our system” he added.
Though, he admitted that, it’s obvious the Nigerians are doing something which the Ghanaian acts are not doing, stating that they put in more effort including time and efforts, PR and lot of more investment from the government and the private sector.
