Black Stars players Kamaldeen Sulemana and Mohammed Salisu have been dealt a blow after their club, Southampton, was officially relegated from the Premier League following a 2-0 defeat to Fulham on Saturday.
Fulham grabbed two second-half goals from Carlos Vinicius and Aleksandar Mitrovic to end Southampton’s campaign in the English top flight.
This means the Saints will play in the Championship again in the 2023/2024 season, their first since 2012.
Mohammed Salisu completed a 4-year deal to Southampton from Real Valladolid in Spain in 2020 and quickly established himself as a first-team regular.
Kamaldeen Sulemana also joined the Saints on transfer deadline day from Stade Rennais in January 2023 and has not been able to live up to expectation.
With two more games to play, Southampton are in 20th position, with only 24 points.
