Information reaching the news desk of the myrepubliconline.com indicates that president Akufo-Addo would in his second term make some profound changes in his government.
These changes would see the merging and even scrapping of some ministries. The Ministry of Information would be merged and manned by Ursula Owusu who is the current MP for Ablekuma West in the Greater Accra region and also the minister for communication whiles the ministry of rural integration is being merged with the local government ministry.
Mr. Dan Botwe who currently heads the local government ministry would be made the head of the merged ministry.
Adjoa Safo’s procurement ministry did not make it into president Akufo-Addo’s new government as our sources at the presidency reveal that the changes are meant to reduce significantly the number of president Akufo-Addo’s ministers in his second term.
There are strong indications that the ministry of roads and highways would now be called ministry of transport.
The current minister would maintain his position.
Minister of state at the interior ministry, Mr. Bryan Acheampong would now serve as the substantive minister of interior.
The agriculture minister, popularly known as the ‘president’s friend’ would keep his job as the Minister for Agriculture.
