The Fair Wages and Salaries Commission is set to meet with the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association today, July 14, 2022.
The General Secretary of the GRNMA, David Tenkorang Twum disclose the information while speaking to Kwame Koranteng on Anɔpa Dawuro on Republic FM, Thursday, July 14.
This comes after joint health sector unions and professional associations including the GRNMA and the GMA said in a press conference Thursday evening, July 13, serving notice to the Government of its intended strike by July 22 if the government fails to negotiate with their COLA demands.
He said the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission is meeting with almost all the labour unions today at 1 pm.
“We had earlier prompted the government of our demand for COLA and they turned deaf ears to us and that’s why we have sent our grievances and position across last night.
But the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission sent me a letter last night that they’re meeting us at 1 pm today and so we are meeting with the FWSC at 1 pm today”, he said.
The teacher unions in the country began the strike some two weeks ago which has unanimously infested other public sector workers to join the demand for COLA.
