Impersonation and Fraud

During interrogation, the suspect allegedly admitted to impersonating a medical doctor affiliated with the United Brain Hospital at Mallam, a suburb of Accra. He also confessed to using the false persona to target women online, initiating fraudulent romantic relationships and subsequently persuading them to pay for non-existent travel arrangements to Europe.

According to police sources, Kow-Assifuah has used this elaborate scheme to defraud multiple victims, exploiting their trust and hopes of securing opportunities abroad.

The suspect is currently in police custody and is assisting investigators with ongoing enquiries. He is expected to be arraigned before court in the coming days.

The Ghana Police Service has urged the public to exercise caution and verify the identities of individuals offering travel or employment opportunities, particularly those initiated online.
