A tragic accident involving a passenger bus and two tipper trucks has claimed four lives and left several others critically injured on the Accra-Kumasi highway.
The crash occurred at Danteng, a community in the Kwahu West Municipality, after one of the tipper trucks attempted a wrongful overtaking, resulting in a head-on collision with the bus travelling from Accra to Kumasi.
According to the Kwahu West Municipal Fire Commander, DOII Samuel Mantey, reckless driving and frequent overtaking have contributed to the increasing number of accidents on the stretch.
“Accidents on this highway have become rampant, and we urge drivers to exercise caution and avoid unnecessary overtaking to prevent further loss of lives,” he stated.
Emergency response teams were quickly dispatched to the scene to assist victims, while authorities continued to investigate the incident.
