The Food and Drugs Authority has called on the general public to pay critical attention to antimalarial drugs as it has identified a fake antimalarial drug on the market.
The drug, Combriat Tablets (Artemether/ Lumefantrine 20/120) with batch number 7225119 is said to be counterfeit.
According to the FDA, samples of the drug from the Northern Region did not contain any of the two active pharmaceutical ingredients stated on the label.
The FDA is therefore calling on health workers and the general public across the country to be on the lookout and report to the nearest FDA office when in contact with the drug anywhere.
