The Film Crew Association of Ghana (FICAG) with support from the National Film Authority, Creative Arts Agency and the Ministry of Tourism arts and culture has launched the second edition of the Ghana Film and Television Crew Awards (GFTCA).
The first edition of the awards which was launched and held in 2016 celebrated the successes of film and television crew members.
The second edition which promises more success and recognition is on the theme: Celebrating the unsung heroes.
The press launch of the awards saw renowned filmmaker David Dontoh, the Executive Secretary of the National Film Authority (NFA), Juliet Asante and many others.
Speaking at the launch, madam Juliet Asante lauded the president of FICAG, Samuel Gyandoh and his executives for the great work done for far.
Madam Juliet noted that in Film making the actors and actresses get all the praise because they are the ones who appear on the screens but without the crew, the actors are actresses would not be recognized.
She added that the NFA is working to bring opportunities to the film industry since the film industry employs the largest number of individuals in the world.
The awards which is scheduled for March 2023 will not only seek to reward the industry’s top players but also empower, connect and facilitate job and market opportunities for practitioners through its numerous networking, educational and entertainment activities which will indulge key decision makers and influential members within the Ghana film and television industry.
According to FICAG, it has begun accepting submissions for nominations from now till 16th January 2023 while nominees would be announced in February.
The awards scheme is supported by Gh Media and Yoga Fresh.
The awards ceremony is slated for the 25th of March, 2023.
